Jonathan Comerford, B.A. (Econ.), M.B.S. (Finance) - Chairman and Director
Mr. Comerford is resident in Dublin, Ireland. He obtained his Masters in Business from the Michael Smurfit Business School in 1993 and his Bachelor of Economics from University College, Dublin, in 1992. Mr. Comerford is Investment Manager at International Investment Underwriting (since August, 1995) and is the chairman of Mountain Province Diamonds Inc.
Rory O. Moore, Ph.D., P.Geo. - President, CEO and Director
Dr. Moore is a resident of Vancouver, B.C. He has a Ph.D. in Geochemistry from the University of Cape Town and is a registered professional geoscientist in the Province of British Columbia. With over 30 years of diamond experience, he previously served as CEO of the Mineral Services Group of Companies, president and CEO of Canabrava Diamond Corp. and manager of diamond exploration for BHP Minerals.
Tom McCandless, Ph.D., P.Geo. - Director
Dr. McCandless is president of MCC Geoscience Inc. based in British Columbia since 2008. From 2000 to 2007 he was Chief Mineralogist for Ashton Mining Canada Inc. and held the same position at Stornoway Diamonds Corp. from 2007 to 2008. Dr. McCandless is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geologists of British Columbia, the Northwest Territories and Nunavut Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists, the Association of Mineral Exploration of British Columbia and is a fellow of the Society of Economic Geologists. He is also Adjunct Professor in the Department of Earth Sciences at the University of Alberta and the Department of Geosciences at the University of Arizona. Dr. McCandless is a Qualified Person (Q.P.) under National Instrument NI 43-101 and has reviewed and approved the technical contents on this website.
Bruce C. Ramsden, B.Comm., A.C.I.S. - Vice President Finance and CFO
Mr. Bruce Ramsden has been the Company’s Vice President Finance and Chief Financial Officer (effective May 1, 2013) since February 2013. He has been a resident of Ontario, Canada since February 1996 and prior to that resided in South Africa where he graduated by correspondence with a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of South Africa and gained through correspondence a C.I.S through the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators. Mr. Ramsden worked for a number of large companies in South Africa, including Mobil Oil, Philips South Africa and Castrol Oil South Africa prior to immigrating to Canada in 1996. Since 1996, Mr. Ramsden has provided financial consulting services to Vaaldiam Resources Ltd. (May 1996 to December 2001) and in addition to his CFO and Corporate Secretary roles was also a Director. Mr. Ramsden was also a Director and Chief Financial Officer of Sierra Minerals Inc. (January 1998 to September 2006). Mr. Ramsden also consulted to St Andrew Goldfields Ltd. (January 2002 to June 2005) and was VP Finance, CFO and Corporate Secretary. Mr. Ramsden was also CFO and a Director for Heritage Exploration Ltd. (January 2005 to June 2005). Mr. Ramsden joined Vaaldiam Mining Inc., formerly Tiomin Resources Inc. (June 2005 to June 2010) as VP Finance, CFO and Corporate Secretary. Mr. Ramsden was also a Director of Freegold Ventures Limited (October 2009 to April 2011). Mr. Ramsden consulted to Andean American Gold Corp. (July 2010 to October 2012), which was acquired by Lupaka Gold Corp. (October 2012) and Southern Legacy Minerals Inc., formerly Sinchao Metals Corp. (July 2010 to June 2012) where in addition to his VP Finance, CFO and Corporate Secretary roles, he also provided financial and administrative services to both companies.
Robert Parsons, CPA, C.A. - Director
Mr. Parsons is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA) and retired PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) partner where his career spanned 34 years. At PwC, Bob headed up the firm’s global mining practice. Following retirement from PwC, as an independent consultant Bob has advised more than twenty governments around the world on mineral policy matters, and has served on the board of directors of nine listed mineral exploration companies. Bob is currently a director of Kennady Diamonds Inc., Indico Resources Ltd., Pan Global Resources Inc., and Prism Resources Inc. He has served on the boards of the PDAC (1985-2003), the Indonesian Mining Association, the Canada Indonesia Chamber of Commerce, the World Mines Ministries Forum, the Canadian Minerals Industry Federation, the Advisory Council of the Centre for Resource Studies at Queens University, and the Professional Advisory Board of the Government of Canada's Petroleum Monitoring Agency. In 2005, the PDAC presented Bob with their Distinguished Services Award, and in 2013 the Government of Canada awarded him the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal for his contribution to Canada’s mining industry. Mr. Parsons is a graduate of McGill University (B.Com, 1968) and a resident of British Columbia.
Claudia Tornquist, M. Mech. Eng., MBA - Director
Ms. Tornquist is an independent metals and mining consultant resident in British Columbia, Canada. She has a Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Technical University of Munich and a Masters of Business Administration from INSEAD. She previously served as Executive Vice President of Business Development at Sandstorm Gold and nine years at Rio Tinto Plc in strategy, business evaluation and business development roles across a number of commodities. In the diamonds sector, she led the development of the growth strategy for Rio Tinto’s Diamonds Group. She also advised Rio Tinto’s Investment Committee on the Argyle and Diavik underground expansions and was involved in the divestment of Ashton Mining. Prior to her involvement in mining Ms. Tornquist worked in venture capital and consulting.
